Breedlove Principals, Mike Breedlove and Reece Parker, were pleased to attend this year’s Veterans Day ceremony at Walk of Heroes Veterans War Memorial. Breedlove Land Planning designed the memorial, which combines architectural and landscape elements to form a pedestrian park on the northwest bank of Black Shoals Lake. The project consists of approximately 25,000 square feet of disabled person’s accessible walkways and plazas, over 600 linear feet of seat walls and retaining walls, parking, sculptures, water features, lighting and site furnishings.
On May 26th, Michael Breedlove, FASLA, LEED AP and Reece Parker, RLA, LEED AP BD+C, assisted the Atlanta Vietnam Veterans Business Association honor fallen hero PFC Ted D. Britt, USMC. Private First Class Britt has killed in duty on March 30th, 1968 while serving in Vietnam. His courageous actions earned him a posthumous Silver Star, Purple Heart and Combat Action Ribbon. The ceremony has held at the Breedlove Land Planning designed Georgia Veterans Memorial Park and was a fitting tribute prior to Memorial Day.

The Rockdale News has just published a story on how “researchers from Georgia Tech are using the latest in digital design technology help bring to life a piece of American history. A group of researchers and students from the IMAGINE Lab at Georgia Tech’s College of Architecture have been selected for the design and 3D visualization concept for the Veterans Memorial Park, near Randy Poynter Lake.” Breedlove Land Planning has provided master planning and construction documentation for multiple phases of the Veterans Memorial Park over the last decade and is assisting in the development of this research and marketing tool.
Breedlove Land Planning is pleased to announce that it has worked to secure a contract with the Georgia Tech IMAGE Lab to provide 3D animation services for the full modeling of the Georgia Veteran’s Memorial Park. The IMAGINE (Interactive Media Architecture Group in Education) Lab “is composed of a group of researchers and students with a mission of serving the Architecture/Engineering/Construction (AEC) community by providing exemplary applications of cutting edge, architectural visualization technologies and to students in the use of these technologies”. IMAGINE Lab will work directly for the Georgia Veteran’s Memorial Park Foundation to provide a realistic 3D visualization of the master plan designed by Breedlove Land Planning.
