Breedlove Principal Matt Tanner Volunteers for MATHCOUNTS

On Friday, February 17th, BLP Principal Matt Tanner, P.E., LEED AP, volunteered to grade exams for the Northeast Georgia MATHCOUNTS competition hosted at Driftmier Engineering Center at the University of Georgia.  The Georgia Society of Professional Engineers (GSPE) is a major sponsor of this organization, which is a ‘national enrichment, club and competition program that promotes middle school mathematics achievement through grassroots involvement in every U.S. state and territory’.  You can learn more about MATHCOUNTS and how you can volunteer here.

Matt Tanner to Serve American Society of Civil Engineers

Breedlove Land Planning Principal Matt Tanner, P.E., LEED AP has been appointed Vice President of the Northeast Georgia Chapter of ASCE.  Matt’s first act in this position has been setting up an April speaking event.  The April 15th event is titled “MSE Retaining Walls:  The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly” and will be presented by Milton Schreiber, P.E. and Mason Berryman, P.E. of GeoHydro.  The event will be held at noon in Athens, Georgia at ‘Café on Prince’ (Piedmont College), 595 Prince Avenue.  Please email Matt to RSVP.

Matt Tanner, P.E. LEED AP, speaks at Turfgrass Conference

Last week at the Georgia Turfgrass Association Turfgrass Institute and Trade Show, Matt Tanner, P.E., LEED AP participated on panel discussing the topic of natural turf vs. synthetic turf for sports fields in high school athletics and public parks and recreation facilities.  Other panel members were Paul Greenwell with Gwinnett County Public Schools, Mark Nichols with TURFindustry and UBU Sports, and Aaron McWhorter with North Georgia Turf and Sports Turf Company, Inc. The audience, predominantly sports field and facility managers, learned about Breedlove Land Planning’s extensive experiences and lessons learned designing both.
