Lunch & Learn

Our Bishop team, along with several interested clients, enjoyed having Jeff Myers of Holbrook Asphalt Company speak during our Lunch & Learn yesterday. Jeff educated us on pavement management and preservation. We look forward to applying this information to our future projects.

USGBC Women in Green

We had so much fun attending USGBC Georgia’s Women in Green event last week! It was truly inspiring to hear from female leaders who are making an impact in building a more sustainable future, and empowering women to join them.

Georgia Tech North Avenue Apartments

Breedlove Land Planning is excited to see the lower courtyard improvements at the Georgia Tech North Avenue Apartments under construction. Originally built as athlete housing for the 1996 Olympics, the open space between these four student housing buildings needed re-programming and refreshment. Breedlove Land Planning developed a design to reactivate this space by creating new, sinuous pedestrian walkways that frame a new synthetic turf oval. Flanking the outside edges of the oval are a series of benches, grilling areas and outdoor seating. A new grove of hammocks was designed, nestled in shade, with electrical hookups to allow students to use devices for learning or relaxation. We look forward to seeing the finished installation in mid-September.

Vogel State Park Campground Renovation

The first phase of Vogel State Park’s three-phase campground renovation project is complete! Breedlove Land Planning, in close coordination with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, designed a remodel of this beloved campground in the north Georgia mountains. Nestled into a beautiful blue ridge valley filled with streams, hemlocks and hardwoods, this campground renovation emphasized tree preservation and protection of natural resources while providing all the modern amenities the modern camper desires, such as full RV hookups, spacious living areas and wifi. Phases two and three should be complete by the end of 2022.
