What do traditional Turkic nomads have in common with northwest Georgia? Yurts. The Georgia Department of Natural Resources hired Breedlove Land Planning to design and observe the construction of eight new yurt campsites at Cloudland Canyon State Park. This new campsite will have a full comfort station, picnic pavilion, playground and trail access to the canyon loop trail system. These modern day yurt structures will each sit upon individualize platforms (above) and have front and back decks that take advantage of views of this Cumberland Plateau ecosystem. Construction should be finished in November, 2012.
